Kingdom Living
Oct. 12, 2025
Matthew 6:25–33 (NKJV) 25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you,
O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
This Message is about Kingdom Living:
How to Live in the Kingdom of God.
We don’t have to wait to go to heaven to Live in the Kingdom of God.
Luke 17:20–21 (NLT) 20 One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will the Kingdom of God come?” Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs. 21 You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you.”
1. Kingdom Living:
Leads to a life of Peace, No Worries, No Anxieties.
Matthew 6:25, 31-32 (NKJV) 25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
Jesus does not promise a trouble-free life.
He does promise a life with Peace.
John 16:33 (ESV) I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Philippians 4:6–7 (ESV) 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
2. Kingdom Living:
Starts by Trusting in God.
Matt. 6:30 (NKJV) Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven,
will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Faith is: To Believe what God says is True.
To Believe that will Provide for you.
Believing that God has your best interests in mind.
Hebrews 11:6 (NLT) And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
3. Kingdom Living:
Is living your Life God’s way, not your way.
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) But seek first the kingdom of God and His
righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
We Must Seek God First, above all else.
“Seek” means,
-Being continually absorbed in search of something (the Will of God for our lives)
-Making a consistent effort to obtain something (the Will of God for our lives)
Kingdom of God Living starts with Kingdom of God Thinking.
Romans 12:1–2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (NLT) 4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
God wants to Bless and Add to People’s lives.
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) But seek first the kingdom of God and His
righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
It is God’s desire that you live an Abundant life.
This includes a Physical Life and a Spiritual Life.
John 10:10 (NKJV) The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
But people HOLD BACK the blessings of God,
By NOT living according to the Kingdom of God Principles.
One way to know if you are living in the Kingdom of God is to see how you handle your Money.
Matthew 6:24 (NKJV) “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
“Mammon” is Money, Wealth, the god of Materialism.
Everyone Will serve and be loyal to one of two masters:
Everyone Is serving and being loyal to one of two masters:
God or Money.
Serving God leads to:
peace, generosity, caring, concern for others.
Serving Money leads to:
worry, anxiety, selfishness, greed, arguments, deceit, lies, rebellion, etc.
James 4:1–4 (NLT) 1 What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? 2 You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. 3 And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. 4 You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.
God wants to give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 145:18–19 (NLT) 18 The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. 19 He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them.
As you draw near and closer to God, your desires change.
You begin to desire the Will of God.
This is why Tithing, Giving Offerings, Pledges, UWC giving is so important to your life.
It Shows where your Heart is:
Matthew 6:19–21 (NKJV) 19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Question: Is your Heart in the Kingdom of God or the Kingdom of this world?
Jesus spoke more about money and possessions than about heaven and hell combined.
Why? Because He understood what money reveals.
What is in your Heart.
Quote: “Money is a mirror of the heart. It tells heaven what we value.”
It’s good to have money, But many times money has us.
Quote: “The problem is never the wallet, it’s the heart that lives inside the wallet.”
Statistics: (https://careynieuwhof.com/church-giving-statistics/)
5% to 10% of people who attend church are committed tithers.
77% of committed tithers give above and beyond 10%.
Not many people tithe, but those who do, understand generosity.
Three Ways to Give
2 Corinthians 9:7 (NKJV) So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
1. The Grudging Giver:
This is a “I have to give” mentality.
It’s an obligation to give.
It’s like paying taxes to avoid penalties.
This is to Give to avoid being cursed.
Malachi 3:8–9 (NKJV) 8 “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation.
2. The Dutiful Giver: “of necessity”
This is an “I ought to give” mentality.
I am paying a bill rather than being a blessing.
I better Give if I want to get blessed.
Malachi 3:10 (NKJV) 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.
Instead, we should want to be a blessing.
3. The Grateful Giver: “God loves a cheerful giver.”
This is an “I want to give.” mentality.
That is worship.
That is my love responding to God’s love.
Example of Abram:
Genesis 14:17–20 (NLT) 17 After Abram returned from his victory over Kedorlaomer and all his allies, the king of Sodom went out to meet him in the valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley). 18 And Melchizedek, the king of Salem and a priest of God Most High, brought Abram some bread and wine. 19 Melchizedek blessed Abram with this blessing: “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. 20 And blessed be God Most High, who has defeated your enemies for you.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of all the goods he had recovered.
Always remember, God is looking for ways to bless you, but don’t get in His way.
2 Corinthians 9:6–8 (NKJV) 6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
