Our Great Salvation

July 20, 2025

2 Timothy 3:14–17 (NIV) 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Salvation is a Precious Gift Given to us by the Grace of God by Faith.

Salvation delivers us from the Penalty of sin.

Jesus Christ Atoned for our sins,

Through His Death on the Cross and His Resurrection.

Before Salvation, we were destined for Hell;

Now we are destined for Eternal Life in Heaven.

Salvation rescues you and delivers you from eternal destruction when you place your Faith in Jesus and receive His Precious Gift.

Romans 10:9–10 (NIV) 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Ephesians 2:8–9 (NIV) 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Through Salvation, you receive:

    -Forgiveness:

Your sins are not counted against you.

    -Reconciliation:

Restored Relationship with your Heavenly Father

    -Redemption:

You have been bought back. You belong to Jesus now.

    -Justification:

        You are not Guilty,

You are Innocent, and you have been Acquitted.

When the Judge asked the Jury,

“What is your Verdict?” The Jury said, “Not Guilty”.

    -You are Free:

        From Bondage

        To Rejoice

We are Free from Sin, but we are not Free from the Presence of Sin.

Sin is still looming all around us.

This is what the Apostle Paul was telling his spiritual son, Timothy.

2 Timothy 3:14 (NIV) But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it

Sin, False Teaching, and Temptation are still around us, but don’t get Influenced by them.

2 Timothy 3:1–5 (NIV) 1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

2 Timothy 3:10–13 (NIV) 10 You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, 11 persecutions, sufferings—what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. 12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

2 Timothy 3:14 (NIV) “But as for you, CONTINUE

in what you have learned and have become CONVINCED of …”

“Continue” means, “to Remain, Dwell in a Place.”

John 15:4–8 (NIV) 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

“Convinced” means, “to strongly confirm and establish, to ratify”.

It is possible to be convinced of something and then later lose that conviction.

Don’t let Sin, False Teaching, and Temptation:

-Shake your Faith.

        -Disturb your Faith

-Trouble your Faith

-Cause you to Waiver and Hesitate.

John 16:33 (NKJV) These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Continue and be Convinced in The Word of God.

    Learn and Study the Scriptures.

Sin is destructive and evil.

Sin means to miss the mark.

We cannot experience victory over sin without the Word of God.

Be Alert in Prayer

Colossians 4:2 (NIV) Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
